About our Managing Director

Jonathon Broome is the founder and Managing Director of Proclaim and is based in Proclaim's Melbourne office.

Jonathon was the National Claim Manager for Chubb Insurance in Australia, starting from a greenfield site in Melbourne in 1992 and building a team in Australia that was, in 1997 and 1998, ranked the best claim operation in Australia (source: Ord Minett survey). Jonathon was also General Counsel for Chubb and has vast experience in PI, D and O, casualty and property claims. Prior to joining Chubb Jonathon spent 5 years as an insurance litigation lawyer at Dunhill Madden Butler.

Our Melbourne Office

Our Melbourne office opened in 1999. Following rapid expansion we moved to our current offices of 134 Flinders Street in January 2002. Our national leadership team includes Richard Thomas, who manages services to insurers and underwriting agents, and Matilda Luff, who manages services to corporate clients.

Our Sydney Office

Our Sydney office opened in 2002 and is managed by our Sydney-based Director Justin Harty. Justin worked for Chubb Insurance for over five years and brings significant experience in claims, marketing and underwriting. Our national leadership team includes Marianne Lim, a lawyer with extensive experience in general liability claims management and Russell Walker, who is our National Manager of Accident and Allied Health business.

Our Queensland Office

With increased client demand for a presence in all major East Coast insurance markets our Brisbane office was opened in 2006.  The office, which is in Elizabeth St in the CBD, is managed by Jonathan Lee.  Jonathan practiced as an insurance lawyer with a major national law practice prior to entering the insurance industry in 2000 and later joining Proclaim in 2003.  He has broad liability experience and now manages specialty lines (predominantly Professional Indemnity and D&O) for the Company. Working alongside Jonathan is Kate Farrell, who has vast experience working both as a lawyer in private practice and in-house at an insurer.

Proclaim has the skills and expertise to provide superior claim management solutions in both administration of claims and in claim management consulting.
In our claims administration services we are dedicated to providing the right mix of our resources - our staff and our on-line systems - to return superior results. We are currently providing tailored claim management services in two main areas:

1. to companies with significant deductibles or self- insured retentions.
2. to underwriters and underwriting agencies or coverholders.

In our claims management consulting services we provide advice on all aspects of claims management, including staffing, reserving and management of external resources such as your legal panel. We can also offer expert advice on professional liability claims, policy wordings and run-off provisions.
