Sponsorship

We take social responsibility seriously.  We like being green.  We aim to leave a little carbon pawprint. We try to give back to the community as well, by being philanthropic.

Since 2004 we have sponsored Gertrude Contemporary Art Spaces (fondly known as Gertrude Street) via their annual flagship exhibition, Octopus.

Our sponsorship is based on the following criteria:

  1. To give something back to the community at large
  2. To support emerging talent in the same way people have supported us
  3. To foster a partnership which has the potential to be inclusive for staff
  4. To provide an opportunity to build the sponsorship into client relationships
  5. To build our brand through association with a cutting edge NFP institution

Founded in 1985 as a non-profit contemporary art complex of gallery spaces and studio facilities, Gertrude provides professional support to artists in the early stages of their careers through exhibition, studio and associated cultural exchange programs that address the relationship between contemporary art practices and current critical debate.

As part of our continued sponsorship we also undertake a number of contemporary art excursions for Proclaim staff members to galleries, artist run spaces, studios and projects.  In addition, we have developed a Proclaim corporate collection of artwork largely featuring Gertrude studio artists and alumni.

We feel this gives our offices a unique and distinctive edge, and hopefully some inspiration for our staff to not be afraid to  push the envelope.

We have also had a number of Gertrude artists and alumni to our office for a floor talk on Gertrude artworks in our collection.  Artists to provide floor talks include Rob McHaffie, Viv Miller, Nick Selenitsch, Michelle Ussher,  David Jolly, Chris Bond and Richard Lewer.   This works on a number of levels -  culturally,it binds us closer to Gertrude and the artworks, but we hope it also serves as inspiration for our staff to extend their limits.

Like Proclaim, Gertrude is a small company in a large industry succeeding in doing something a little bit different.  Proclaim is excited to be partnering one of Australia’s leading cultural facilities and hopes the creative influence will continue to drive us to more innovative solutions for our customers.
